Screen is black: Instead of your TV image, you see a black screen. It continues when you change channels, but you do see the channel information from the Interactive On-Screen Guide.
Lost signal when changing channels: When changing channels, the lost satellite signal message appears for a few seconds before the new channel comes in.
Recording didn't work: You set a recording and your program doesn't record as planned.
Upcoming recordings don't appear in list: My programs don't appear to be in the upcoming recording list.
Missing PVR program: Something you've recorded is no longer on your PVR list.
Multiple Recordings: I want to record a single edition of a program each week, but it's recording dozens on many different channels.
Instant PPV: When the phone line is connected to the receiver, your home phone stops working.
You set a recording and your program doesn't record as planned.
Double check the PVR Upcoming menu. If you had a recording conflict, your Advanced HDPVR may be recording a later viewing of the same program in order to get all of your recording done.
If that's not the case, check the PVR List for other programs which recorded around the same time as the missing recording. Watch for programs which run slightly long, such as from 8:00-9:01pm. These can cause a conflict with programs starting at 9:00pm. Ultimately, the missing program may not have been given a high enough priority in PVR Options to ensure it is always recorded, or else someone may have scheduled a one-time recording for the same time as the missing program. One-time recordings schedule at highest priority and will take precedence over existing recordings. Additionally, in the case of two recordings scheduled at the same time, someone may have been watching TV at that time and selected "Deny" to prevent the PVR from recording both scheduled programs.
If necessary, you can adjust the priority of your program in PVR Options to ensure it always gets recorded. Note that this may stop a lower priority program from being recorded instead. You can also expand the "Channels" options, to give the Advanced HDPVR more flexibility to record your programs. As an example, if Survivor is set to record on CBS East HD only, it can only ever record at 8:00pm ET. If you change the "Channels" option to "HD only", the Advanced HDPVR can also schedule Survivor on CBS West HD at 11:00pm ET if required. This will ensure the maximum number of programs get recorded in the event of a conflict.
While in PVR Options, you can use the "View Upcoming Air Dates" option to verify which upcoming episodes of the program are scheduled to be recorded. A round record symbol with an "!" symbol indicates a recording conflict and an episode that won't be recorded. Note that if you've already made changes to priority or channels to prevent future conflicts, you'll have to exit the PVR Options menu to allow the receiver to replan your schedule.
If an episode you expect to record has no record symbols next to it, this means that episode doesn't meet your Recording Event criteria. For example, the episode might not be tagged as "NEW", while your current settings specify only new episodes get recorded. Or, you may have set a one-time recording instead of a recurring recording.
If everything checks out in PVR Options, you may want to restart your receiver by pressing and holding the front panel power button on the front of the Advanced HDPVR 630 for 10 seconds and then release. This will reset your receiver. After about 15 minutes when the interactive On-Screen Guide data has reloaded, confirm the programs you want to record are listed in the PVR Upcoming menu, and then check back afterwards to see if they have recorded.
